Moravian Academy – Merle-Smith Campus
The Merle Smith Campus of Moravian Academy is a 121‑acre educational campus located in Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania. The site includes academic buildings, athletic fields, and support facilities arranged within a landscape of open lawns and mature trees. Circulation is organized through internal roadways, parking areas, and pedestrian paths connecting academic and athletic zones. The campus layout reflects existing topography and preserves large open spaces alongside developed areas.
Pidcock served as land planner and civil engineer for the Merle Smith Campus, providing site/civil engineering design, traffic planning, and permitting to support campus-wide improvements. The work addressed an existing country estate setting with mature landscaping and constrained circulation, requiring reconfiguration of roadways, parking areas, and pedestrian connections. Planning included layout of new athletic fields and future building sites integrated within the established campus framework. Pidcock coordinated with school representatives and municipal agencies to secure approvals and advance phased improvements aligned with the campus layout.
