Hills at Lock Ridge

The Hills at Lock Ridge is a 300‑acre master‑planned residential development located in Lower Macungie Township, Pennsylvania. The community includes approximately 700 dwellings consisting of single‑family homes, twin homes, and townhouses. Roughly 100 acres of the site were dedicated to permanent open space and recreation areas distributed throughout the development. Key features included a one‑mile recreational trail, picnic pavilions, an outdoor amphitheater, and multiple recreation center buildings integrated into the site’s layout and topography.

Pidcock served as land planner and civil engineer for The Hills at Lock Ridge, providing land planning, site/civil engineering design, traffic planning, and permitting from master plan through construction. The work addressed the 300‑acre site with varied topography, requiring careful grading, roadway alignment, and stormwater management while preserving 100 acres of open space. The team coordinated infrastructure and circulation for 700 housing units across multiple residential types, integrating roads, utilities, and pedestrian systems. The effort involved extensive coordination with township and reviewing agencies to secure zoning, subdivision, and land development approvals supporting phased buildout and long‑term community operations.
