FedEx Regional Distribution Hub
The Rockefeller Group developed a large industrial park subdivision on property acquired from the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority along Willow Brook Road in Allen Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. The development includes a 1.2-million-square-foot FedEx Regional Distribution Hub and approximately 2 million square feet of additional warehouse facilities. The project encompasses more than four miles of roadway improvements, including the widening of Willow Brook Road, Race Street, and Airport Road, as well as the reconfiguration of the Airport Road and Schoenersville Road intersection. The project required substantial utility infrastructure, right-of-way acquisitions, and coordination with adjacent transportation improvements.
Pidcock provided land surveying, roadway design, traffic impact study, traffic signal design, permitting services, right-of-way plans and dedication, water and sanitary sewer design, utility relocation coordination, and LANTA coordination for the industrial park subdivision and associated transportation improvements. The work involved multiple PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permits, FAA approvals for traffic signal pole heights, extensive utility conflicts, and numerous right-of-way acquisitions along heavily traveled corridors. Coordination was required with PennDOT, local municipalities, transit agencies, utility providers, and a concurrent PennDOT roadway project along Airport Road. Pidcock obtained approvals, permits, and prepared infrastructure plans necessary to support phased development of the distribution and warehouse campus.
